Fraser River (BC) - Float I
Scenic float trip. This is a great place to see spawning salmon in August. The run is grade I throughout with many log jams along the way. It passes the confluence with the Robson river and Swift Current Creek before arriving at the takeout. There are plenty of places to stop and observe the scenery, stop for lunch, or if the clouds are favorable see Mt.Robson's peak
If this space is blank there have been no alerts posted for this specific river.
The symbols can be clicked on and provide some simple explanations of why they are there. You can also use the symbols to get directions from Google Maps to the put in/takeout. A handy thing!
From Jasper head west on Hwy 16 ~1hr to the 'Mount Robson Lodge and Campground', enter the campground and check in at the front desk to let them know you'd like to use their boat launch. Drive down the hill and go park in the visitor parking near the rafting gear sheds. This is a private campground that the owners have been nice enough to allow public river access, please be courteous to their facilities and drive slowly.
From the campground head east back towards Jasper until you reach the Mt.Robson Cafe(~15Km). Turn right (South) onto Hargreaves Rd. Take the 3rd right turn (the last turn before Hargreaves bridge) and park. Please keep in mind that several rafting companies use this parking lot so be courteous. Hike ~100m to the pool below the Fraser Canyon and put in.

Length & Time
Peak flow is in June however the run is good at all flows. It is fed by snow melt, with the season beginning in May and running through to September. Assess flow at the put in gauge(the Red Pass online gauge is above the confluence with several tributaries and isn't always accurate to river conditions).
