// Mid-Summer Update

Whew! I know it has been a while since I did maintenance and updating of PaddlingABC. My best excuse is a new puppy and summer weather. I have a couple of tasks I am working on. In order to speed up the site I got rid of the “drop down” river levels. You will now need to click a single link. I think the speed benefits and the simplicity will be worth it. I also shifted the blog over to the main page. It (the blog) will be getting an aesthetic overhaul soon, it is ugly I know. I got rid of the weather from the river levels. What I heard from folks is that they do not use it. Instead I added in an “8hr Flow Trend” in addition to the (unclear) “36hr Flow Trend” that was there before. You can see a help file about how I calculate the flow trend here: Flow Trends Explained. I have also made the actual levels themselves stand out a bit more form the time and date stamp. My hope is that this makes browsing the river flows easier and faster. Read more for the dog photo and some more details.

I know that I still have work to do with regards to getting a few of the new entries from this summer onto Google Earth. I plan to that in the coming weeks. There are a few small loose ends I will work on but am happy by the changes I have just made to the site. If you have any other comments feel free to let me know on Facebook or via email. To those of you who have given me feedback on the site (good and bad) and to those who have also added in new rivers a BIG thank-you. PaddlingABC is starting to get close to reaching 100 runs. Amazing isn't it. I will leave you now with a photo of the new pup in mid-stride. I hope everyone is enjoying their summers and not getting beat down too hard at Harvie Passage.
