A classic Calgary afterwork creek run. The run really just consists of 3 major rapids all class IV broken up by class II water. The first rapid is Elbow Falls and is about 10ft. It is typically run hugging the river right shore but can also be run on the left
. Portaging is not easy. Next up is The Notch, watch out for the undercut on river right. Scout and portage on the left. After this is The Slide. This begins with a decent sized hole into a large shallow slide into a big bunch of gnar at the end you need to punch through. Scout and portage on the right. After this you are pretty much homefree until the end.
If this space is blank there have been no alerts posted for this specific river.
The symbols can be clicked on and provide some simple explanations of why they are there. You can also use the symbols to get directions from Google Maps to the put in/takeout. A handy thing!

Short, action packed.
Elbow River is typically paddled in the spring. It is fed by snowmelt and rain, during the summer if it rains watch the water levels as it can get high enough to paddle again. Low water is 10cms, High water is above 30cms.
