The run to the Highway Bridge is an easy class 1 section suitable for beginners. Small eddies on either side of the river are good for learning eddy turns.
If this space is blank there have been no alerts posted for this specific river.
The symbols can be clicked on and provide some simple explanations of why they are there. You can also use the symbols to get directions from Google Maps to the put in/takeout. A handy thing!
Takeout is on Eastbound Highway 1, pull off to the right immediately after crossing the river (Before the Stewart Creek Exit).
After Crossing the road bridge in Canmore, take the first left into the parking lot.
Gentle Class 1 (at best)
This section of the Bow can basically be paddled from May - October. Basically from when the ice leaves to when the ice comes back. The flow will go up predictably in the spring and drop back down in the fall but as it is such a major river there will always be enough water to paddle. Be aware that in the spring there can be numerous sweepers and wood in the river.
