Drive east from Keremeos, BC to the turn-off south towards Cathedral Rocks park. Follow the road up the river to the obvious pullout on the right (river side) of the road.
Continue driving upstream from the takeout to put in. The road parallels the river and there are many put in options. The run can be made about as long as you want to make it. After 22km it begins to flatten out.
Very continuous with broken bedrock.
Snow melt in an otherwise desert area. May-early June in most years.
There is a visual gauge on the lower bridge over the Ashanola. 2.5 is a medium flow.
The Ashnola river section starts at about the 50s mark.
